Hardware
Description tInside the Haven Clip is an advanced optical heart sensor that uses light-based photoplethysmography (PPG) to read pulse signals accurately and consistently. The sensor is positioned to maintain skin contact when attached to walkers or mobility aids, allowing steady monitoring without requiring the user to wear something on their wrist or chest. To support accurate readings, the device includes noise-reduction filtering and motion compensation, ensuring that vibration from walking or moving the mobility aid doesn’t interfere with the heart rate signal. The sensor is low-power and heat-efficient, allowing for continuous monitoring without shortening battery life or causing discomfort.
Connectivity
Heart rate data is transmitted to the Haven app using the same secure hybrid connectivity system as the Clip’s other features. Through Bluetooth, the device performs routine background syncing whenever the user’s phone is nearby. If an abnormal heart event is detected—and the phone isn’t within range—the Haven Clip uses its built-in cellular module to send critical alerts directly to designated caregivers. Wi-Fi signals, when available, can help optimize upload speeds and ensure that data reaches the caregiver app quickly.
